African Trees: a photographic exploration

African Trees: a photographic exploration

Photography and text by Charles Bryant & Brita Lomba, 2004

Double Storey, Cape Town. Hardcover, 176 pages, 245x295mm
ISBN: 1-919930-76-0, R295.00 (available from good bookshops in South Africa, or direct from doublestorey.com)

Enchanted with Africa's wild places, the author-photographers of this book underwent a continental journey to find and depict some of the most impressive and interesting trees.

Hosted on their travels by &Beyond's various safari lodges, the book has been arranged into eight sections, each representing a distinct part of Africa. Overall the large-format book is a visual feast, with an uncluttered page design allowing the images to speak for themselves. The text is light and the captions brief, so this is not a book for the botanist, but will certainly have great appeal for anyone who simply has a wonder for trees.
