Good news at Kirkman’s Kamp, having a pack of 15 Wild Dogs in the Area. Yesterday morning we found the pack after they'd just killed an impala. With bloody faces they ripped their prey into pieces as three Hyaenas joined the scene. The dogs, scared of the other predator, ran away into their next encounter. During our evening game drive we drove from the camp to through the Ivan's crossing, as we were driving to the north we saw a leopard on the other side of silio stream it was following the road. It was a nice day and we did a full day game drive when we stopped at the hippo pool and that is when we saw almost all the hippos are in yawning competition but one of them had to win as I think that is the full streach of its mouth it did.

On an early morning after heavy rains at Kirkman’s Kamp. The night of stormy Thunder and lightening brought over 100 mm of rain. We are out on our early morning game drive. The roads flooded from the rain, the birds welcoming the sun that slowly burning through the clouds.

From mid monsoon onwards, in almost all Jungles in India, the Giant Wood Spiders begin spinning their enormous webs between the trees - a few even reach right across roads. This Common Wolf Snake was caught in the web (almost a foot long snake) and was mostly eaten, as we could see the digestive juices of the spider had worked on it.
