As we were coming from the Airstrip we spotted hundreds of vultures on trees and decided to go see what had happened since we thought something big like an Elephant had died. As we got close we found vultures finishing an Impala that was killed by a Leopard and taken up on a tree. what unusual sighting to see vultures feed from the tree. Read more... |

What a wonderful sighting we had as myself and four guests, Rolf,Flor,Rob and Katie driving from Manyara airstrip to the Lodge we encounted four ground Hornbills walking on the grassland where two of them had a snake each on the beak and one had two snakes hang'ing while one hornbill followed them from behind without snake. We had an interesting drive with my guests where one of the interesting sighting was watching a dwarf mongoose came out of a hole in the termite mound after they where chased by Crowned eagle and it climbed right on top to have a better look for safety in the area. Read more... |

Two days ago there was a report of a female leopard, which was seen with her cub, along the river. Yesterday we decided to look for this female leopard and drove along the river. From mid monsoon onwards, in almost all Jungles in India, the Giant Wood Spiders begin spinning their enormous webs between the trees - a few even reach right across roads. This Common Wolf Snake was caught in the web (almost a foot long snake) and was mostly eaten, as we could see the digestive juices of the spider had worked on it.
