Summer is here and the rains have finally arrived in South Africa, bringing lush green grass and a chance for brand new beginnings. Meanwhile, the rains in East Africa continue to cause confusion for the migratory herds. The animals keep moving back and forth according to the weather patterns. As a result, the wildebeest and zebra have now moved into CC Africa's Serengeti Under Camps to feast on the new grass popping up everywhere!

The last few months at CC Africa have been very exciting for us! We were delighted to unveil the new and much improved wildwatch.com, which has been relaunched as an interactive community site. Wildwatch will give you the most fascinating wildlife sightings on a daily basis, and give our guides the opportunity to share the excitement of Africa's pristine wilderness with the rest of the world. We are making some changes to the wildwatch.com website to make it more exciting, more informative, and lively. In the meantime, we feature here an article on the Munyawana Leopard Project which is being run and managed at Phinda, with the goal of monitoring the density and movements of these majestic cats. There is also a gallery of spectacular photographs taken by CC Africa ranger William Moss at Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, and updates on how recent rains have changed the landscapes at Kichwa Tembo and Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge. Two exciting news books are featured in our reviews column, with 'Star Gazing from Game Reserves' being especially appropriate in southern Africa where clear starry nights predominate as the southern winter sets in.
