Name: Giles Kelmanson
Nickname: Gilo
Country: South Africa
Profile:
I was born, raised and schooled near Pietermaritzburg in the Natal Midlands. I have always had a passion for the outdoors and have travelled fairly extensively throughout Southern Africa as well as Kenya. A few of my interests are African history, birding, fishing of any sort, most sports and learning about the fauna and flora of the world. I studied at The University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg, where I attained a B.Sc in Plant Pathology & Grassland Science. Thereafter, I worked for Mala Mala as well as Exeter Private Game Reserve for approximately 5 years. I decided to move to the United Kingdom for a couple of years where I was employed by Citibank London. I missed the bush terribly and so decided to move back to South Africa at the end of 2006. I joined CC Africa in May 2007 and have been completely overwhelmed by this incredible company. I am currently the head ranger for Phinda Mountain and Rock Lodge and loving the challenge.
