Profile:

Growing up on the outskirts of a small city, all my free time was spent around the natural ponds in the neighbourhood looking for frogs, salamanders and other water loving creatures. Studies in natural science were followed by qualifications as an operation room-nurse in 1981, and six years later a degree in management after I studied part time. I then started diving as a hobby in 1989 and qualified as a PADI diving instructor in 1992. Soon after qualifying as an instructor I sold my home-care business and, together with my wife Leen, left Belgium for the Maldives. Different positions in the diving industry lead to work in the Cayman Islands, the Philippines, Portugal, Egypt, and finally Mnemba-Zanzibar in June 2001 when I joined CC Africa. Underwater photography is one of my favourite hobbies, as well as the identification of different fish and other marine life; and in introducing people to a beautiful underwater world. I have logged over 5000 dives and certified well over 1000 divers
