Profile: Born in 1970 in a town called Karatu, situated on the slopes of the Ngorongoro highlands, Killian Awaki is a proud member of the Iraqw tribe. Completing his schooling in Karatu, he found employment at &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, where he worked in maintenance for ten years.

Following his dream to become a guide, Killian spent all his free time studying wildlife in order to attain his goal. In 2007, he joined the Mwewe Ranger Training School and qualified as a guide in six months. The following year, he was assigned to &Beyond Grumeti. Lillian is now working as a professional guide at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge.

In his spare time, Killian enjoys travelling listening to gospel music and birdwatching.
