Profile: Mark has been exposed to the wild his entire life, having grown up on his family’s game farm near the town of Louis Trichardt in South Africa. When he left school, he spent two years working and travelling throughout Europe, something that he views as an invaluable experience. In May 2003, Mark joined the &Beyond team at Ngala Private Game Reserve as a trainee camp hand and, by December 2003, he had qualified and was guiding at &Beyond Madikwe Safari Lodge in the North West Province. He spent two years at Madikwe, eventually returning to &Beyond Ngala, where he had begun his ranger training, in August 2006. Over the years, Mark has developed a great passion for walking in the bush and is now a fully qualified guide for Walking Safaris at Ngala. He is easy-going and believes that a humorous personality goes a long way when entertaining and keeping his guests safe while discovering all sorts of African wildlife on foot.
