Matt spent his youth in Ontario, Canada where he grew up diving the shipwrecks of the Great Lakes.  Having started his career as a financial advisor, professional diving started as a hobby and then quickly turned into a passion.

 
After working in a bank for 4 years, he decided to go for a sabbatical year in Turks and Caicos and work as a dive instructor. That sabbatical year turned into a complete life change and Matt ended up staying for 6 years diving and managing two centres in Turks and in the Bahamas.

Matt is also a keen photographer and takes pride in teaching the divers about marine biology. He has the best eyes to find all those small rare critters hiding in the sea.  Matt and Marie met in his last year managing the dive centre in Bahamas, and they left together for a new diving adventure in Egypt.

After one wonderful year diving the reefs of the Red Sea, Matt and Marie joined &Beyond in 2011 as Mnemba Island Dive instructors and are now ready to start exploring their new underwater world.
