Guide's Biography

Ralph Mabunda
Name:        Ralph Mabunda

Country:     South Africa

Profile:

I was born in 1972 and raised in a local Village called Utah in the province of Mpumalanga. The bush was my playground, and with the help of my father and grandfather, I spent my childhood learning about the ways of the wild. In 2000 I started working for a lodge in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve as part of the Habitat Squad. This team was also used for training trackers, and 8 months later I went on to become a full time tracker. In this position my hunger for knowledge grew, and in 2003 I started working for Kirkmans Kamp where I remained a tracker for a further three years. In 2006 I was given the opportunity under to start working as a Field Guide. I am acknowledged for being a good birder and enjoy the plant life throughout the reserve.
