Profile: Ray grew up in the little karoo region of South Africa on a stock farm so from an early age his roots in the wilderness had been planted. He went on to study a diploma in Game Ranch Management and spent 16 months doing his practical training and monitoring game movements at Kwandwe Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape. He joined CCAfrica in May 2006 and has been at Ngala ever since. He views himself as a general naturalist with a keen interest in birding.
