Guide's Biography

Stephanie Mast
Name:        Stephanie Mast

Nickname: Steph

Country:     South Africa

Profile: I was born in 1980 in Germany where I consequently spent my childhood and teenage years - far away from anything like the bush. Before I decided to "travel" to Southern Africa, I worked at a local radio station in Germany as a presenter - a news anchor / producer / saleswoman. In the beginning of 2004 I made my way to South Africa to take a years break from my job... I ended up at the Bush Academy - a ranger training school in the Northern Province. The practical part of the training brought me to Makalali. From there I worked for a Lion Research Project until I joined in May 2006. Almost two years in the ranger team at Phinda Mountain and my heart was hooked. I was especially interested in Flowers, Insects and of course Cheetah. Not to forget all the other small and big things in nature. I am now enjoying the experience at Kirkmans Kamp in the Sabi Sand Reserve.
