After a long game drive looking for cats, we picked up a beautiful leopard up on an acacia tree. There were some impalas at a distance - he all of a sudden got up and showed an interest in these impala. He quickly dropped off the tree and started stalking the impala – it was very exciting to see this cat lowering its body almost to the ground level. It was about time for the leopard to pounce on this herd of impala, but the impala immediately saw him and they all took off. It is not an easy activity for these cats to get their meals and he decided to move on to the next spot.
There was a tree nearby full of Egyptian geese and big nest for red billed buffalo weaver. You don’t have to give up if you are hunting - he quickly got up a tree and tried to catch one of these geese. This is a worse game if you can’t fly, all the geese took off. This leopard finally caught a small weaver. What an opportunistic life!!
This made our day, indeed it was a busy sort of time.
