Kirkman's Kamp
Kirkman's Kamp, with its spectacular views of the unspoilt wilderness and the Sabi Sand River, is regarded as one of the best loved lodges in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. A well known historic camp, originally built in the early 1920's Kirkmans Kamp celebrates the atmosphere of an early South African lowveld homestead.

A SECRET VISITOR
We have seen tracks around the lodge many times before. But this mornings’ scene would be something different. Coming up to the lodge Kholin Matonsi and Lennox Mathebula recognised some fresh drag marks on the Kirkman’s Kamp lawn. Through the eyes of an experienced tracker,Kholin also noticed some urine next to the sofas at the main area. “That’s leopard”, he reckons. We followed the fresh tracks for a while towards a rocky section behind room 14. There she was! A young female leopard had killed a bushbuck that night and dragged it right across the lawn to tuck into it between two rocks down by the river.
