Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp consists of ten delightful tents tucked away in the extraordinary Serengeti National Park - widely seen as the planet's greatest functioning ecosystem. The Grumeti River has some of the world's biggest hippos and Nile Crocodiles. During certain times of year, you have a ring-side seat for the famous great migration.
Baboons interupt Cheetah hunt
On our way to Seronera we saw a female Cheetah and her cub of about one year chasing a baby Thomson's Gazelle. Suddenly, a couple of male Olive Baboons arrived on the scene and ran towards the Cheetah. Suprisingly these two baboons chased the cheetah away but did not attempt to catch the baby gazelle. We were surprised because baboon are omnivorous and sometimes kill and eat young gazelles. After about ten minutes the baby gazelle was joined by its parents.
