Sandibe
Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is sheltered in a forest of wild palms and fig trees and flanked by the papyrus-rich channels of the Okavango Delta. The sensitively designed lodge witnesses the ever-changing moods of the Delta, from wintry oasis to rainy rejuvenation.

On a recent stay at Sandibe we were treated to great game viewing and birding. The first morning we went out was spent tracking a pack of 21 Wild dogs, Our ranger and tracker team of Speedy and JB were determined to find the dogs and after 3 hours of tracking we were rewarded by finding the pack, they had just finished eating a impala and the pups were...

Our resident leopard was found this morning, underneath a Marula tree, with a kill of a baby impala. After a few weeks of absence, everyone was relieved to see her with her cub who was as strong and playful as ever. When the mother was full she hid the kill in the shrubs, covered the sent with leaves and lay down with her cub. The cub spent the next half...

The colony of fruit bats living under the main, thatched ceiling at Sandibe have given birth. Over the past few days, we have noticed a number of new additions to the colony - huddled up under the wing of the mother.

The Wilddog pups are growing quickly and are doing well. Spotted today - 9 adults and 12 pups - the pack was playing around near one of the flood plains. The adults then left the pups to cross the water to go hunting. The guests were lucky enough to see the main pack chasing after a herd of impala - unsuccessfully this time.
