Big Numbers @ Big Dam

We decided to spend the heat of the day resting in the shade overlooking Big Dam. When we arrived there was an impressive flock of vultures bathing and sunning themselves. 123 White-backed, 4 Lappet-faced, 2 Hooded, 1 White-headed and 1 rare Cape! And then we waited... An hour or so later, the first elephants arrived. A group of bulls made their way and started to swim and submerge - it lasted nearly an hour! Then the breeding herds arrived - 99 eles in total trumpeting and scrumming to get to the water - the only ones disturbed were the hippos who had to make way for a while!
