BOOMSLANG
Towards the end of winter the lowveld becomes incredibly dry with the usual absence of rain for a number of months. At the end of September the days start to heat up and creatures such as reptiles begin to emerge from their winter hiding places. With the lack of green leaves on the vegetation it is possible for a keen eye to spot these animals as you move through the bush. This Boomslang (tree snake) was seen peering out of a hole in a Mopani tree where it had been sheltering.
