Yesterday Afternoon we took a slow drive to the dam hoping to get some sunset photos of elephants drinking. I also just so happened that there lions at the dam, and as you can imadgine, lions and elephants are not the best of friends. the wind changed and the elephants picked up the scent of the lions. I was very interesting to see how the elephants moved...

While a watching a rather large pride of lions at the dam starting to wake up, we noticed a francolin pretending to be wounded in order to lure the prowling 6month old lion cub away from it's nest. Unfortunatly for the francolin the lion cub a bit to much pounce, and in one FOWL swoop the francolin was locked between the jaws of the young lion. As you can...

Lions are always entertaining to watch, due to their interactions. we came across a pride with receptive females, when a few moments later a big male came bounding in displaying who was boss. Then a few moments later the other big male came bounding in throwing his weight around. Unlucky his brother was not sharing the female, as this system works on a...

The morning started by being late for drive due to an elephant road block. Once I had picked the guests up we got caught in another road block. While waiting to pass we saw a herd of buffalo in the distance once we managed to get closer we started counting, until we lost count after 230 buff. We then took a turn past the ever exciting wild dogs, a whole...

The afternoon drive started off very quietly, all we saw was the back of an elephant bull moving off into the thicket. I decided a nice sundowner on the plains would be the best option moving forward. We were enjoying a beautiful sunset when a black backed jackal came strolling along. He sat and watched us and we identified him as one of the research...

A sighting without seeing anything is a little hard to come by. I awoke in the middle of the night to the sound of laughing outside my house, the laughing of hyenas. There was a clan going mad over an unknown kill they had just made and then the bellowing came. The king of the jungle was on his way. All the excitement had attracted a pride of lions. A...

Whilst doing a mid day pick up we decided to go past one of the dams. To our surprise thee was a herd of elephants there, then another herd came and another and another, totalling 80+ animals. They were swimming, rolling in the mud even having a nap in the mud. They were having so much fun we almost wanted to go and join them, ofcourse that wouldn't be a...

We stumbled across 7 sub adult lions this morning. While we were following them through the bush, 3 of them ran off and jumped onto a termite mound and into a tree. The other 4 then decided to do the same thing although there was no space for them. most of them ended up falling out the tree and the remaining lions could not get down and fell out aswell....

We were driving up the eastern bountry to try and relocate on 7 sub-adult lions, when we came across a huge giraffe bull. We stopped to view him and then carried on about 100m and bumped into the lions moving down towards the giraffe. We positioned ourselves as not to get in the way, and sat tight holding our breathes. The 7 lions stalked to within 10 m...

We came across a female white rhino with a calf this afternoon who were being follwed and harrassed by a w.rhino bull. from nowhere the bull launched a full on attack on the young calf. Myself and college Fracios had to make a hasty re-treat as not to become involved in the scuffle. Unfortunatly for the bull the mother was not going to stand for such...
