Sheltering below the plunging walls of the Great Rift Valley lies the quintessentially serene Lake Manyara Tented Camp, tucked in an evergreen forest on bird-rich Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park is where Ernest Hemingway camped on the hunting safari that inspired his book, Green Hills of Africa.
Cats Night Out
On one of my night drives, we were lucky enough to spot an elusive Serval, a small spotted African cat, near the Migunga clearing stalking something, and then walking away after missing its intended prey. A few minutes after we encountered a big male Leopard marking its territory next to the track near the Mahogany Gate.
Then a sighting of a Caracal slowly crossing the track infront of us near the Minor Hot Spring area on our way back to the lodge, was the finale of our very rare cats sightings night drive! Aziza
