Easy meal!
Just as we thought the afternoon coulnt get any better, Andy pointed to his left and said "cheetah!" Far in the distance in the shade of a rhus, was a female cheetah and her five cubs. We went closer for a better look. The sun was setting and we had incredible light for photos. After a short while the adult female lifted her head and started showing interest in a herd of red haartebeest with a few calves in the distance. We decided it was worth it to stay. She signald to her cubs that it was time for them to sit tight while she starts to stalk. She was closing in on her target when suddenly two black backed jackals spooked some springboks close by. One of them broke from the herd and ran straight into the cheetah with the jackals close behind. The cheetah, very surprised jumped out the grass giving the pair of jackals quite a surprise, and grabbed her super lucky meal. We couldnt believe our luck!
