Father and Son
What a little bundle of joy this 2 ½ months old male lion is. We found him enjoying his mother’s milk and resting afterwards between her paws. The fat little belly hanging out on each side of the body and the youngster happy being taken care of.
The mother was busy sleeping so did two males of the pride. Suddenly the cub popped up his head and listened carefully in one direction.
There was a Hyena approaching the happy family. The Scavenger was already dangerously close as it spotted the pride of lions. In fear the Hyena turned around quickly and made just enough noise to wake up the rest of the pride.
The cub, now inquisitive checking out where the Hyena was going, also caught a fright and hit underneath the mother’s paws. A wake up for the female, now also being alert.
The Hyena stopped again to have another look. And that was enough to trigger one of the males. Without hesitation he got up and started chasing the Hyaena.
After some time we picked up the laughing of the Hyaena that had closely escaped the lions paws. The male lion came running back to the Pride roaring and marking his territory.
