Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is sheltered in a forest of wild palms and fig trees and flanked by the papyrus-rich channels of the Okavango Delta. The sensitively designed lodge witnesses the ever-changing moods of the Delta, from wintry oasis to rainy rejuvenation.
GIANT EAGLE OWL CATCHING SOME ZZZZZZ
A few days ago I arrived at the lodge to find the butlers & guests standing under the trees just next to the dining area and all looking up and pointing. After scanning the tree tops I spotted what they were all looking at – a Giant Eagle Owl perched on a branch catching up on some sleep after a night’s hunting. He stayed in the same place all day, even ignoring the babblers when they started making a terrible noise and dive bombing him! Eventually he roused himself and started looking around as the sun was setting and then off he went in search of supper.
