Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is sheltered in a forest of wild palms and fig trees and flanked by the papyrus-rich channels of the Okavango Delta. The sensitively designed lodge witnesses the ever-changing moods of the Delta, from wintry oasis to rainy rejuvenation.
Great stay at Sandibe.
On a recent stay at Sandibe we were treated to great game viewing and birding. The first morning we went out was spent tracking a pack of 21 Wild dogs, Our ranger and tracker team of Speedy and JB were determined to find the dogs and after 3 hours of tracking we were rewarded by finding the pack, they had just finished eating a impala and the pups were chasing each other and competing for the last Impala leg. The next day we went out and found two big male Lions growling at each other and having a tug of war for the last remaining pieces of a Wildebeest kill, on our way home we found a big Male Leopard strolling through the clearing with his nose to the ground, he seemed to be following a scent trail after, about 10 minutes of following him he lead us to a Warthog burrow where he lay down close to the entrance and seemed to be waiting for the pigs to emerge, we waited a while and eventually we headed home leaving the Leopard guarding the Warthog burrow. The last afternoon we went for a boat trip where we saw a good number of birds and watched a beautiful sunset
