Grumeti
Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp consists of ten delightful tents tucked away in the extraordinary Serengeti National Park - widely seen as the planet's greatest functioning ecosystem. The Grumeti River has some of the world's biggest hippos and Nile Crocodiles. During certain times of year, you have a ring-side seat for the famous great migration. |

Living in an area where every day passes by with wildlife storming through the area and that is full of adventure is simply the best time in my whole life. We left in the morning for a game drive with my two guests, Vadim and Katya. The main quest for the drive was to find the elusive cat; the leopard. Whilst on the way to 'ranger post' we come across...

It is unbelievable watching the wildebeest getting close to the Grumeti River! Others are turning back and creating a circle of movement that looks like they are gethering for a special ceremony. Listening to the sound of these animals can be heard throughout the entire Grumeti area. It's simply breathtaking!

It is very beautiful to see that the Serengeti plains are now virtually covered from corner to corner with thousands of migrating wildebeest. There are roughly, in total, millions of wildebeest that are roaming around Grumeti at the moment. We are all waiting for the big crossing to happen!

As I said, there is bit of tension amongst the herd with the crocodiles in the Grumeti River, waiting rather closely along the water's edge for the wildebeest to cross.

It is quite something to see crocodiles waiting very close to the water's edge in the Grumeti River for the wildebeest migration herd to cross, and yet no action is taking place just yet. We waited for several hours, hoping to see a crossing. We are, however, having fun watching the drama of the herds in anticipation for a river crossing.

It's unbelievably amazing to watch the migration herds. It's rather fun to listen to the drum beats of the migrating herds. It's a sound that you just can't resist!

More herds are still "flowing" into the Grumeti area. The whole area is filled with wildebeest at the moment! It's amazing to see them all running in one line and yet still seem to be so incredibly tense to cross the Grumeti River. The sounds of them all is phenomenal. None of us want us to leave this place at the moment as every minute...

A big herd has arrived near the Rrumeti River and the crocodiles are getting ready for some action. The smaller herd is starting to cross but they seem a little bit tense to do so. It is now a great time to see the migration at Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp .

It was early morning when we went for a game drive and suddenly the migration herds were showing all the signs of crossing! A large herd began "flowing" towards the Grumeti River, close to our lodge, Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp . It was unbelievable to see millions of wildebeest scattered in the open areas of the Serengeti, and to see...
