&Beyond's Xaranna Tented Camp is situated near a permanent channel of the Okavango Delta in 25 000 hectares of pristine wilderness that is shared by only 18 guests. HELICOPTER GAME FLIGHT

That noisy helicopter had to have frightened the hippos. How high up was it?

Surprisingly the animals are not too bothered with the noise of helicopters. Height varies from about 300 ft above ground to 1000 ft above ground. The pilots are very sensitive towards the animals and try hard not to disturb them. I have been very fortunate over the past years to be able to spend many hours in Helicopters flying over the Delta with no doors and taking 1000’s of photos. This is an amazing experience that I would recommend to all visiting the Okavango Delta.
