how do we do it mom
While out on drive one morning, my guest and i were discussing how they had never seen a kill and i explained that it's deffinately not the most common sighting. While discussing this a nother ranger had found the one female lion with her three cubs. so we decided to go to the sighting.
We arrived at the sighting to find the lioness and cubs walking, so we followed them. the cubs were being cubs and lagging behind and playing etc. while mom had her mind on other things. We watched the mom slink away into the bushes, she looked like she saw something in the bushes infront of her, the cubs proceded to follow her but stopped and carried on play. We were watching the cubs for a little bit and then we heared this slight squeal. The guest and i thought it might of been her daughter on her bottle. A few minutes later we saw the mother come back with something in her mouth, the one guest could see the lions a bit better and he said that she had a warthog and the cubs were playing with it. We then moved off road to see ti better, once we had stopped and could see the warthog and lions, the warthog got up and ran straight towards the vehicle with 4 lions tailing close behind. At the last moment the warthog turned and ran straight past the vehicle.
We quickly turned around and followed them and not far behind the vehicle the mother grabbed the warthog and showed the cubs how it was done.
It was a great ,exciting morning especially for the guests in seeing their first kill.
