Over the past 3 weeks the park management has been doing controlled burns. During the rainy season we had close 1000ml of rain so the fuel load for fires is massive. Now that we have burnt a lot of the fuel load the grass seeds are all exposed. All of a sudden we are seeing one of the most amazing bird shows in the world. The Red Billed Quela’s are flocking in the thousands and are going absolutely bananas at the dams in the evening. The sound is sensational. To top it all off, watching the Lanner Falcons tear through these mega flocks grabbing an easy dinner.
