Driving by a rocky terrain in the park we heard the warning calls of a squirrel. This could have been for anything - a snake, mongoose, bird of prey. We were scanning the area whilst the vehicle was moving & I spotted something unusual, almost like a dry moss on a rock. Stopping to check I couldn’t believe my eyes - a RUSTY SPOTTED CAT! Very...

We saw this female tiger with two cubs (around 3 months old) of which we have been hearing since the reserve has opened this season. It was really lucky to be there as cubs this small are generally kept out of view by female tigers.

This magnificent animal is highly nocturnal in behaviour. To see it in the day time is a treat. Our guests were very lucky to not only see it, but to enjoy a lot of their behavioural habits as well. A sloth bear is also known as a predator of termites. This photograph has been contibuted by our guest, Monica Lafon.

Recently this male cub has been seen both from the road and from elephant back. This cub was from the last litter of a dominant female, and is now roaming independently on his own. It remains to be seen if he can establish himself as a dominant male soon.

The annual rut of the Barasingha has begun in Kanha National Park at the start of December. Barasingha males are at their impressive best with elaborate head gears and can be seen getting these huge antlers decorated with grasses. The rutting call which echoes in the misty grasslands early in the morning declares their readiness to breed, spar &...

To watch a leopard on a kill, as well as in a tree is always exciting. Recently I got a chance to witness that. I was driving back to the lodge and came to the spot where one of the vehicles had already spotted the leopard in a tree with a kill. It was so exciting to see the leopard with a spotted deer faun kill. We managed to take a few photos.
