Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp consists of ten delightful tents tucked away in the extraordinary Serengeti National Park - widely seen as the planet's greatest functioning ecosystem. The Grumeti River has some of the world's biggest hippos and Nile Crocodiles. During certain times of year, you have a ring-side seat for the famous great migration.
King of the Jungle
Usually on game drives we come across lazy Lions sleeping most of the hot day. But imagine our delight when we came across 8 peaceful lions sleeping in the shade, and a bull Elephant came walking towards them. The Lion's nap was cut short when the big bull came charging towards them, chasing them off in all directions.
Close by one male Lion was in the process of mating with a lioness, and after a few attempts by the Elephant to chase them off, the bull finally released that these lions were much too busy to be chased off.
The bull Elephant then moved off towards his destination, obviously realizing that there still was a King of the Jungle! Grumeti Ranger Team
