While washing my hands in the rest room, I heard a noise coming from the ceiling. I looked up and to my surprise, there was a chameleon hanging on for dear life! A couple of minutes later, it let go, fell to the floor, and then slowly made its way outside to a small cactus, posing for some photos.

It has been so amazing to see leopards almost every day now in the reserve. The most sightings we have had was from the female called the "Kuka female" with her two cubs, one male and another female. Kuka female is the daughter of the Grumeti female,s o we have been seeing her hunting on her mother's territory. The day before they made a...

We estimated their numbers to be more than 300. When we started the game drive we went straight down the Grumeti River to see them. It is amazing just to watch them with the...

It is always interesting to see something small. Today as we were driving along the Grumeti River searching for leopard we saw a baby hyrax feeding on the leaves. It was not very shy. It is not often we see baby hyrax as they are always skittish and close to their mother and sometimes escape into the holes of the tree where they reside. We spent time...

A few days ago we saw small cubs of about 2-3 months old. Today we saw their new faces again, but they are a little bigger now - maybe about 6-7months old. We saw them with other lions eating a buffalo. Their tummies were full and they were heading toward the river to drink water. We followed them slowly from behind. They went down the stream and drank...

What a wonderful morning game drive! On our way to Black Rock for the Ranger's breakfast we saw two ostriches in the distance. As we approched them, we saw a few chicks on the road. Some were on the grass. We counted them and there were ten of them. They were so beautiful as they were running and the male was by their side protecting them. We...

The caracal is one of the most skittish and rarest cats in Africa. Usually they are active during the night, but can also be seen early in the morning and during the late evenings. Today I was so lucky to see one just below the camp on our way back during a night game drive and was very relaxed. We spend time with it. It is a very beautiful cat,...
