Driving down the Sand River looking for leopard, we stopped at a little clearing where I had a nice view up and down the river. This year we have had some really good numbers of waders coming through early in the season and I always like to have a good look at them in case something a little more uncommon makes an appearance. I saw some Common...

This pride of lions known as the "Kichwa pride" had a very good time yesterday and this morning where they were surrounded by hundred of thousands of the migrating herds. Yesterday, the whole family brought down a wildebeest and a warthog at the same time. Today I witnessed two lionesses killing two wildebeest from two separate sightings a...

The reverse migration is back again for the third round this year. We were all (guides) fortunate this morning in the Mara Triangle to witness at least a million wildebeest and zebras herding towards &Beyond Kichwa Tembo wildlife area. Although you can never be sure what tomorrow holds as far as the bush/nature is concerned, but we hope that within...

26 October 2012 ~ Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya Serengeti National Park, Tanzania Although the mega-herd is still scattered along the Oloololo escarpment in the Masai Mara , there is still plenty of action on both sides of the Mara River as the animals move back and forth. Large herds of wildebeest have moved down into the northern Serengeti ,...

When Bhamera was two years old, he was kicked out of the main core area by his father, B2. He lived his life for almost four years close to ‘’Bhamera’’ water pool in the Buffer area of the National park. He mostly preyed on domestic cattle. After B2 died, he came back to the main core area of the park and started dominating. He is...

It was my first safari of the season. As seeing a wild dog at Panna is very rare, we were not expecting to see one and were driving back towards the park gate enjoying the beautiful sunset, when we saw this wild dog in the golden grass for few seconds. It was one of the most memorable moment for all of us.

22 October 2012 ~ Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya Serengeti National Park, Tanzania The reverse migration still has the wildebeest moving back and forth, with the enormous mega-herd still scattered along the Oloololo escarpment. At &Beyond Kichwa Tembo , the views are absolutely spectacular with animals grazing as far as the eye can see. As...

Our day started at 05.00 this morning and by 05.15 we were out of the camp. It was me, Radi and Oscar, and we decided to drive as far as we could to try and get to see what we have been missing in areas that we don't go to every day. By 06.30, we had travelled a long distance and just as I looked on to my left, I just shouted, "Leopard! Oh, Oh!...
