Kirkman's Kamp, with its spectacular views of the unspoilt wilderness and the Sabi Sand River, is regarded as one of the best loved lodges in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. A well known historic camp, originally built in the early 1920's Kirkmans Kamp celebrates the atmosphere of an early South African lowveld homestead.

Leopard after night kill

After trekking the leopard for half an hour in the dark, we were fortunate to see Chololo kill a Steenbok, next to the vehicle. The first time I experienced this. After seconds he disappeared into the bush not to be seen again the evening. Next morning our rangers, Dave and Kholun, took us back to the spot of the killing and started to search for Chololo. They found him and we were able to shoot some beautiful photos. Thanks to the Rangers for their efforts.
