Leopard Sighting
Leopards are seldom seen in this area and they are good sightings anywhere. Last year there were two sightings of Leopards by our rangers, but so far this year there have been none. This morning Ophious was out on a drive with guests who were only spending one night.
At Hyeana waterhole, on the way back, they spotted something walking towards the hills. A Leopard! This is the first leopard that we have actually seen on our property - the others have always been further south on Namib Rand Nature Reserve. We usually recommend spending at least two nights, if not three, at Sossusvlei Mountain Lodge. However, it is amazing what can sometimes be seen in just a one night stay.
The same guests who saw the leopard had a few good sightings, including Mountain Zebras and a very large Black Spitting Cobra last night.
