Leopard Sighting
Driving south before sunrise on the main road, we came across the leopard about 10km south of the lodge. It was only twenty metres from the vehicle when we first saw it. The leopard was a big male. It appeared that the leopard was hunting as it was moving towards distant springbok. We watched it for about 10 minutes but it moved off and was becoming hard to see behind the rocks as it would periodically lie down. The drive was very good overall as we also saw Crimson-breasted Shrike and all our Giraffe. Despite the wind, we had a very lucky drive.
