Exeter Lodges
Exeter River Lodge is situated within the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, renowned for having the best Big Five game-viewing in South Africa, if not the world. The Reserve is famous for its incredible leopard sightings. The Sabi Sand leopards have grown accustomed to safari vehicles, thereby permitting close up sightings and extraordinary photographic opportunities.

Lion Update
After the death of his brother, the 5th male of the coalition that has been dominant in this area of the reserve, returned back to his brothers after a fight with another coalition of 4 males on the eastern boundary where the 6th male was unfortunately killed. Since his return into the area, and the fact that he has not been here for almost two years, he has become somewhat of a nuisance to the females and cubs in the area. Because of the fact that he has had no mating rights over the females in the past couple of years, he is not familiar with the cubs and has no vested interest in raising the cubs. Because of this, we believe he is responsible for the latest three cub deaths in the area from the Shemungwe Pride in the south. The latest update is that only three cubs now still survive, however we have had no sightings of the cubs in nearly a week. One of the adult females who was the mother of one of the latest cubs that have been killed is currently mating with the leader of the male coalition and has been seen a few times recently.
