MALE COMPETITION

Not far from the African Wild Cat, we saw two male lions jumping out of bush and chasing a lioness for meters. They were on the full speed, the only thing we could see is dust ! We followed them for a kilometer and they went off into the bush and we met them the other side of the bush - as we got there we could only see one male and he was trying to pick up the other lions scent. He looked confused - the other male had disappeared with the lioness in the bush, we also gave up and drove back to the camp. This showed that she might be coming from a different pride ( nomads ) as she appeared to be lactating and seemed to have lost her cubs - perhaps those two males killed her cubs so she can come back on heat again.
