Male lions kill a Spotted Hyena
On the evening of 4th May we were watching a group a four Male lions, there was a group of five White rhino close by with a young Rhino calf of about 2 years, the Lions were hungry and moved closer to the Rhino, the five Rhinos saw the lions and started to chase them around, the Lions were running away from the Rhino but were still looking for a opportunity to attack the young Rhino but this didn’t happen, all of the commotion attracted two Spotted Hyenas, one of the Hyenas was too slow to escape one of the male Lions charges and he was caught, two other Lions joined in the attack on the Hyena and soon the Hyena was unable to move due to its injuries, the first Lion to catch the Hyena proceeded to suffocate the Hyena until it was dead, all the Lions left the Hyenas body and walked away.
