Mara Triangle Rhinos
After a long period of suffering with difficulties of Black Rhino sighting in the Mara Triangle with only one female which stayed for long without having a partner apart from association with Eland and Cape Buffalos.
The year 2003, the female rhino was seen with a male whom we guess came from Serengeti North Park in Tanzania. The female gave birth to a female calf who is almost five years now. After three years, the female was seen again with the same male mating together. The male is now territorial along the salt-lick area not far from Kenya and Tanzania border. The female conceived again and now with a male calf, "good news".
Since January 2008, we have got 3 visitors in the triangle, 2 females and a male. One female is expecting and we hope the other one will mate soon. In total, we have seven rhinos in the triangle. "What a luck!!!".
NB: The first female calf is pregnant about 5months and the male calf is about 9 months old by now.
