Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is sheltered in a forest of wild palms and fig trees and flanked by the papyrus-rich channels of the Okavango Delta. The sensitively designed lodge witnesses the ever-changing moods of the Delta, from wintry oasis to rainy rejuvenation.
MASSIVE BUFFALO HERD
Driving from the airstrip to the lodge we came across a huge herd of buffalo at Moporota Crossing. What a wonderful sight to see them all slowly moving across the flood plain and then through the water. There were buffalo on both sides of the road as far as the eye could see! We estimated well over 2000. Two male lions were spotted following the herd, but so far it doesn't seem that they have been successful in making a kill.
