Mating lions
The lion population on Ngala is strong and may be about to become stronger.
With a coalition of five young males starting to reach maturity they are starting to push the boundaries of what they are allowed to do. This lion although young is very impressive in size and was found mating with a lioness in the south west of the reserve, understandably protective over his mate he would not let her out of his sight and often out of touch. The next few weeks and months could be very interesting for the dynamics of the prides and the challenges between males that promise to take place.

do you know if this coalition is still in the area? wondering if they are the a coalition who have begun to take over sabi sands territory formerly held by the mapogo coaltion. ;) if so then one has been killed in territorial battle already ;)
