Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is perched on the edge of the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater at the eastern edge of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania. It lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which covers more than 8 000 square kilometres (3 100 square miles) of pristine African wilderness.
Mating Rhinos!!!
We started our drive this morning around 6h00 and it was absolutely rewarding...as we were driving through the Lerai Forest our eyes were caught with the view of four huge things in the forest..We picked our binoculars to have a closer view and what we saw was just breathtaking...a big male black Rhino was on top of the female while the other two who were probably subordinate males were just watching the show!The copulation lasted for about forty minutes and then they moved to the longish grass to rest.
