Great Migration
The extraordinary annual Great Migration of wildebeest and other grazing herbivores across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem is one of the greatest spectacles in the natural world. Over two million herbivores partake in this journey, with about 200 000 zebra and 500 000 Thomson's gazelle behind the main players...one-and-a-half million wildebeest!

MIGRATION ON THE MOVE
The vast majority of the migratory herds have crossed the Mara River and moved across to the eastern side of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Some of the smaller herds remain in the Mara Triangle, and river crossings are still occurring regularly. We suspect that some of the herds will be drawn back to Mara Triangle over the next few days, due to the recent rain that has improved grazing conditions. With the Mara River swelling, this will no doubt result in some spectacular game viewing for guests visiting &Beyond Kichwa Tembo.
