Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp consists of ten delightful tents tucked away in the extraordinary Serengeti National Park - widely seen as the planet's greatest functioning ecosystem. The Grumeti River has some of the world's biggest hippos and Nile Crocodiles. During certain times of year, you have a ring-side seat for the famous great migration.
MORNING DRIVE
It’s always good to have a morning game drive, especially when viewing a herd of gnu and a dazzle of zebra in the open clearing. Then we drove along the Grumeti Riverrine vegetation looking for the black and white colobus. We had a fantastic sighting of them and as you know, this is the only area you can find them within the Serengeti National Park.
Finally we came across a pride of lion. They were about eleven feeding on gnu flesh carcass. On the side of the pride there were Jackals waiting for the lions to finish. Suddenly the lions started to move under the shade. It was then the jackals turn to feed. Surprisingly one Jackal was feeding greedily compared to the others and after feeling fully fed he came to rest very close to our vehicles as you see in the accompanying photo.
