We were out bright and early this morning, and as the sun rose we headed eastwards along the road separating Ngala from the Kruger National Park. Our hope was to find tracks of a pride of lions that with any luck had crossed over to Ngala during the evening. Much to our delight we found tracks, Fanny our tracker hoped off the vehicle to inspect and...

The western side of Ngala is a special part of the property, with few roads and big blocks it has a wilderness feel about it, and often offers some of the most amazing and unexpected sightings.
This morning it was the lure of the unexpected that brought us to Big dam, a beautiful water hole in the west. On our arrival, a herd of elephants were there...

We took off down south with the goal to find some lions that had been seen that morning. It had been a warm day so we suspected they wouldn't move far, but,as the clouds rolled in we started to wonder if maybe they would start moving into the bush. With the light fading, we managed find them, more or less in the same place where they'd been left. This...

We'd had a good morning and, with our coffee done,we started making our way back to the lodge. As we were driving along, the call came in that someone had found a male leopard in the Timbivati River bed. We decided to go have a look as it was not too far from where we were. As we approached the area on the river banks we were told that there was no longer...

We were taking one of the roads leading to the southern most parts of the property. Our plan was to look for lions but, as it so often happens, the animals of Ngala had other ideas. As we were driving through a clearing Jimmy spotted a male rhino in the distance. As we got closer we realized that there were 2 females accompanying him. We followed them for...

The afternoon was cooling and the sun was just starting to set, as we drove along looking for an ideal spot for sundowners. We approached a clearing and in the distance a few rhino heads became visible, but what awaited us as we got nearer was quite impressive.
A crash of 4 white rhinos, grazed away at the short grass approaching the vehicle; as we sat...

This morning we headed from Ngala tented camp for a rhino walk some were in the south of the park, after a 20 min drive Solly spotted some lion tracks following a heard of Buffalo. We don't know where all the guests are, who could share this with us...but today I took the staff out on a drive, and this is what we saw....
First, a group of old buffalo bulls walking stiffly across the grassy airstrip near the lodge. A little while later, another ranger spotted a caracal--a rare sighting here at Ngala--and we investigated the bushes...
