We started off as early as possible on our morning game drive. We had seen two lions and a lioness the night before and interestingly the dominant male took the lioness behind the bushes and got to see the reaction of the subordinate male, he did not follow them so it was showing that he knew what was going to happen, mating time. As we left to check...

There has been a lot of hyena activity at Nxabega . This is because the guides have found an active den site. It seems that there are 7 adults and 3 young ones. The sightings have been incredible; mothers sucking their young to socialising and the odd squabble between the youngsters over food.

While on the boat cruise through the papyrus channels that Nxabega is well known for, we noticed what seemed to be a bird hawking insects from the water lilies. As we approached it became evident that it was not a bird but a bat! I managed to snap some shots to help me identify the bat later. A closer look at the photos revealed that it was a common...

On a game drive from the airstrip to Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp there is a wide open area called Wildebeest Plains where we often see a number of different species of game. This afternoon we were able to photograph this majestic elephant bull.

The Okavango Delta is a very special place. Along with a lot of mammals and bird species the scenery is magnificent! This is an early morning photograph taken from the pool deck at Nxabega .

Baobab trees are able to live for hundreds of years, sometimes thousands. Elephants however have a greedy hunger for their flesh often resulting in the death of individual trees. This specific Tree, close to camp will probably be a fatality soon.

Just another relaxing day at Nxabega . This male leopard was photographed relaxing in a Leadwood tree only two minutes away from camp.

This photograph of hippos under water was taken from a recent scenic flight in a helicopter. The clear waters and white sand of the Delta make it easy to see and a great opportunity to get some exciting photos too.

One of the more beautiful snakes around Nxabega is the Spotted Bush Snake. I spotted this one just outside of camp hunting for small prey, probably something like a Cape Dwarf Gecko. I was able to get a number of nice photos of it before moving away through the Large fever Berry thicket.
