Sheltering below the plunging walls of the Great Rift Valley lies the quintessentially serene Lake Manyara Tented Camp, tucked in an evergreen forest on bird-rich Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park is where Ernest Hemingway camped on the hunting safari that inspired his book, Green Hills of Africa.

Owl catches Hedgehog!

We were looking for the ever elusive Leopard in trees when all of a sudden I spotted a Verreaux's Eagle-Owl in a tree. We backed up to get a closer look and on inspection, we noticed a hedgehog in its tallons. We dont know when it caught the spiny little creature but it was great to see the Owl in broad daylight.
