Madikwe Safari Lodge is situated in the heart of the richly diverse and malaria-free 76 000-hectare (187 800-acre) Madikwe Game Reserve – one of South Africa’s biggest wildlife sanctuaries. Famed for Operation Phoenix, the world’s largest game translocation exercise with the introduction of more than 8 000 animals, Madikwe’s diverse geology and broad mix of habitats allows a wide range of African wildlife to flourish – including the Big Five, cheetah and a thriving population of wild dog.

PANGOLIN!!!!!!

It was just 2 guests and myself on drive. They had been here for a few days and where happy with what they had seen, so i told them about the 2 animals that i still had never seen. The Aardvark and Pangolin, showed them the pictures and discussed how we would never see one....... Well about 20 minutes later as it started to get dark, we saw it. The PANGOLIN!! The excitment took over and i was out the vehicle going for a better view, (forgeting my 2 guests who i dont think new what was going on) so i called them to come have a look. We viewed the animal for a while, which then decided it would like to go and and have a closer look at the vehicle. Well it was the best 20 minutes ever, we then left it as it got to dark..
