Paradise
I have just returned from a two-week holiday at one of the most fabulous lodges our company has to offer. Where else would you like to spend your two weeks leave then on the might Zambezi, tiger fishing, bungi jumping, incredible birding and on of course their abundance wildlife. The plan was to only spent four days there and very quickly turned into 2 weeks. Matetsi just has so much to offer their guest. Game drives, walks, canoeing, boat trips, trips to Victoria Falls, bungi jumping and helicopter rides over the falls. Our day mostly comprised of waking up late and having a first class breakfast literally on the waters edge, then a good days fishing on the boat and afterwards our afternoon game drive. Most people would think the game viewing in matetsi has decreased because of their economic situation but this is not the case. We saw huge herds of elephant, buffalo herds exceeding 400, lions, hyeana, loads of sable, serval, African wildcat, porcupine, giraffe, plus all the general game, hippo, crocs and a sighting of the rare roan antelope. The birding was sensational with highlights being the Schalows turaco, senagal coucal, African finfoot, wire tailed swallow and long tailed starlings. For the fishing enthusiasts we caught over 50 tigers, two huge barbel of 8kg and some very tasty bream. I must say a huge thank you to you Magdelle for giving us the opportunity to come visit. The level of hospitality you showed us can never be surpassed by anyone. From the time on the boat to being stuck literally in Stoffels Gat were all major highlights and good times I wont ever forget. Secondly I have to thank the rest of the whole Matetsi staff for looking after us so well. The never ending smiles and the willingness to help really show. After all the tough times you have been through in work and at home over the past few years, I really cant believe how well everybody is doing and the energy, enthusiasm and passion you have for Matetsi, the place we call paradise. Simply amazing
