Pell's Fishing Owl

During a morning mokoro expedition (at about 09.30) our spotter, MK, saw the owl in a tree on one of the smaller islands north of the picnic site. MK called Dux, our ranger, who took us to the island. As we arrived the owl took off and flew about 300 metres to a neighbouring island where it settled in the higher branches where it watched us as we came ashore to get e better view and take a photograph. After about 10 minutes on shore we left it in peace.
